We're excited to invite applications for the NAViGO International Medical Fellowship in Psychiatry.
It's a two-year structured training programme based here in North East Lincolnshire.
Should your application be successful, you'll expand on your understanding of the field of psychiatry, adding valuable professional experience to your résumé.
You'll be a valued member of the NAViGO team, collaborating with and learning from a wide array of consultants, clinicians and other staff. Under supervision from experienced colleagues, you'll work through a personal development plan to develop the skills required to succeed in psychiatry.
We'll even support you to gain an MSc in Clinical Psychiatry from the University of South Wales, or support and advise you towards gaining Royal College of Psychiatrists membership.
If you're an international medical practitioner with the knowledge and skills in psychiatry to practice under full registration in the UK, we'd love to hear from you.
You will already have a minimum of three years' clinical experience in psychiatry.
And you must meet the General Medical Council's English language requirements. Under the International English Language Testing System, you must achieve an average score of 7.5 across speaking, listening, reading and writing, whilst scoring at least 7.0 in each area.
Don't have GMC registration? It's not a problem. We act as your GMC sponsor.
We need to make sure you're working to at least the level of a UK medical graduate, so we'll comprehensively assess this during the application process.
We'll also put safeguards in place to ensure the standards set out in the GMC's good medical practice guidelines are met.
Before you join the Fellowship programme, you'll need to have a full induction period.
During this time, you'll be able to acclimatise to your new environment. We'll introduce you to life in the UK - and more specifically, North East Lincolnshire - and make sure you're familiar with NAViGO, the National Health Service and the local and national organisations we work alongside.
You'll also have to complete mandatory training sessions on subjects like safeguarding, information governance and restraint reduction techniques.
This is a great time to get to know the staff you'll be working with - and you'll initially be shadowing colleagues in clinical environments rather than working unsupervised.
You'll be working to the Royal College of Psychiatry's core psychiatry curriculum.
We have two posts available as Specialty Doctors. One of these is within our community mental health services and the other is within our Early Interventions in Psychosis & Transitions team.
