NHS Talking Therapies offers a range of treatments aimed at helping you to deal with stress, anxiety or depression.

If you’re 16 or above and registered to a GP in North East Lincolnshire, we offer free access to treatments that can help you to maintain positive mental health and wellbeing.

We can help you to better understand and manage conditions like:

  • stress
  • anxiety
  • depression
  • post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)
  • panic attacks
  • sleep problems

Our friendly practitioners can support you in person at our NAViGO House base, but we offer a range of virtual alternatives, too – including online courses. The treatment you receive will depend on your symptoms and personal goals and we’ll work with you to find the best option.

We offer a number of different one-to-one therapies, including:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Guided self-help (CBT)
  • Counselling for depression
  • Couples counselling
  • Interpersonal therapy
  • Eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing

Appointments are available between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday but there are also opportunities to have one-to-one therapy in the evenings.

We’ll ask you to complete a short questionnaire before each session, so we can better understand your symptoms.

Our free online courses help you to understand how you’re feeling and to consider different methods of reducing stress, anxiety or depression.

There’s one session each week for between four and six weeks and each session is a couple of hours long.

Courses are delivered as a presentation – almost like a classroom – so this isn’t group therapy. However, depending on the specific course, you will pick up lots of helpful tips on how to cope with common mental health problems.

The courses we run include:

  • Anxiety and Stress Management: Understand how you’re feeling and look at ways to reduce stress while practicing relaxation techniques between sessions.
  • Positive Changes for Depression: Find out ways to improve low mood, learn problem-solving skills and practice assertiveness in your day-to-day life.
  • Introduction to Mindfulness: Learn simple mindfulness meditation practices that you can build into daily life to help reduce stress, anxiety, low mood and pain.

Getting a job and keeping it can be difficult when you’re feeling the effects of stress, anxiety or depression.

If the NHS Talking Therapies team find your mental health issues are affecting your employment, or vice versa, our employment advisors will work alongside them to help you achieve your ambitions in the workplace.

We will give you confidential advice and support if your mental health is affecting your employability, so you can nail down that job.

For those already working, we can also advise on issues like redundancy, discrimination, unfair dismissal and more.

We work together with HR departments and unions as much as you would like us to, acting as an advocate on your behalf.

Having a long-term condition can affect all areas of our life – not just our physical health.

NAViGO​​​​​,​​ Grimsby Town Football Club and the Care Plus Group have come together to offer Tackling Diabetes - a new support programme for people diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes.

The free programme focuses on diabetes management alongside both psychological input and physical activity.
